Journalism made easier - web tools

Participants at a Reuters Training in Nairobi
Journalism is a very challenging profession. It needs a lot of effort for one to carry on especially given the working conditions in Africa. However, the way out is the use of web tools to make our work easier. Am now in Nairobi attending a Training by Thomson Reuters Foundation on "Web Tools for Journalism". While Robert Freeman from BBC is facilitating, am thinking of how my colleagues who work upcountry will ever advance. A friend of mine who lives in Kanungu tells me that she accesses the internet only after ling up for 6 hours. Alternatively, she has to book the only accessible computer connected to the internet in the District 24 hours before and make a payment right away. Is there anything we can do for such comrades of ours?

GOODBYE FORMER UGANDAN PRESIDENT

The former President showing off Yamamoto's picture

Alot is always remembered about a person when he dies. There are lots of memories in the minds of the people even if they are mourning. However, for the former Ugandan President, Godfrey Lukonga Binaisa he broke the record for being the first former President to marry the second time. In what seemed dramatic to the onlookers yet it was real to the parties involved, Binaisa at the age of 84 married Japanese Yamamoto in July 2004 and she divorced in July 2005. I think Yamamoto passed all her mathematics exams because she was very perfect at numbers. July 2004 - July 2005. watch the page for details
